Key Concepts Discussed:

  • The Google 3-Pack: This is the top section of Google search results for local searches, and it receives the most clicks. Ranking here is crucial for local businesses.
  • Google Trends: A free Google tool that shows the popularity of search terms over time and across different regions. It can reveal what’s trending in your specific local area.
  • Keyword Research: The process of finding the terms people are actually using when searching for businesses like yours.
  • Related Queries and Topics: Google Trends provides insights into terms and subjects that are closely associated with your main keyword.
  • ChatGPT: An AI language model that can generate text, including articles and web page content, based on prompts and provided information.
  • H Tags (Heading Tags): HTML elements (like H1, H2, etc.) used to structure content and indicate the main headings and subheadings on a web page. They help search engines understand the content’s hierarchy.

How to Find New Keywords and Create Content (Based on the Mindsaw Video):

  1. Go to Google Trends: Navigate to trends.google.com.
  2. Enter a Seed Keyword: Type in a keyword relevant to your business (e.g., “kitchen cabinets,” “electrician,” “lawyer”).
  3. Adjust the Timeframe: Change the default “Past day” to “Past 90 days”.
  4. Select Your Location: Scroll down to the “Interest by region” section and select your state. You can further refine this by clicking on your state and then potentially your city if it appears.
  5. Change “Rising” to “Top”: In the “Related topics” and “Related queries” sections, change the dropdown from “Rising” to “Top”. This will show you the most popular related terms, not just the ones that are currently increasing in popularity.
  6. Explore “Top” Queries and Topics: Review the list of top related queries and topics to identify keywords you might not have considered. Pay attention to interesting combinations, like “Lowe’s kitchen cabinets” in the example.
  7. Copy the Keywords: Select and copy the list of “Top” related queries and/or topics. The video creator initially tried to export a CSV but found it wasn’t directly usable in the next step, so copying is recommended.
  8. Use ChatGPT to Write Content: Go to ChatGPT and provide it with the copied keywords. Ask ChatGPT to write a web page article (e.g., 1000 words) that includes these keywords naturally and also to include H tags to structure the content. For example, the prompt could be: “Here are a bunch of keywords: [paste keywords]. Please write a thousand-word article for a web page that includes these keywords. Also, please include H tags when creating the article.”.
  9. Review and Use the Generated Content: ChatGPT will generate an article that incorporates the keywords and uses H tags. Review the article and then you can add it to a new page on your website. The example in the video shows an H1 tag like “The evolution of kitchen cabinetry in Phoenix Arizona”.

Take Action Now:

  • Try this strategy for your own business! Head over to Google Trends and start exploring keywords relevant to your services in your local area.
  • Experiment with different seed keywords to uncover a wider range of related terms.
  • Don’t be afraid to compare your services with popular options identified in Google Trends, like the “Lowe’s kitchen cabinets” example, to highlight your unique selling points.
  • Use ChatGPT to create compelling and keyword-rich content for new pages on your website.
  • Remember to focus on providing value to your potential customers while incorporating these keywords naturally into your content.
